Pinellas County Woman Charged With DUI Dances During Field Sobriety Test
Back in April, we covered a story about a Pinellas County woman who allegedly “danced an Irish jig” during a field sobriety test.
Four months later, the dash cam footage has been released. Oh, it was some kind of dance! Not at all what you want to do when you’re being evaluated for a DUI charge, but the video is highly entertaining.
Our friends at Fox 13 covered the story and you can watch the video on their website.
The arrest report shows that the woman’s name is Amy Harrington. On the night of April 27th, she hit another vehicle on Gulf Boulevard.
The body-cam footage that was released shows a deputy telling Harrington what to do during the field sobriety test. Harrington referred to the deputy’s instructions as “ridiculous.” Then you see Harrington do her ballet and dance moves as she’s walking the yellow line.
Harrington also added, “Oh my God! You sound like my [bleeping] ballet coach.”
She also said, “I just want to go home, dude’…It is safe for me to go home. Please, I’m begging you.”
Finally, after almost eight minutes of the antics, the deputy arrested Harrington and placed her in cuffs.
The charges include DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to testing. Harrington had another arrest back in 2019 for refusing a breathalyzer test.
This is another friendly reminder to hire someone to drive you, catch a ride with a friend, or call an Uber. There are too many options you have so that you can avoid finding yourself in this situation. Be safe.
