What do you thin spring break will be like around the Tampa Bay area? How many travelers are we expecitng?
At Tampa International Airport, there’s a high expectation that there will be tons of travelers. They’re expecting a record number.
Last year in March, more than 2.2 million travelers made their way through TPA.
Adam Buchard is the airport’s Vice President of Operations at the airport. He said, “Earlier than anticipated by nearly two weeks, we welcomed more than 84,000 people through our building this past Sunday.”
The typical spring break cycle runs from March 7 through April 10. If you want to steer clear of the major crowds, avoid the airport on Saturdays and Sundays during this time.
Buchard added, “I like to refer to spring break as the Super Bowl for the airport and so we plan for months in advanced to make sure that we have it right.”
Who wouldn’t want to hit our Pinellas beaches or hot spot Tampa restaurants and bars during a fun spring break?
