Tampa Author Goes Big Or Goes Home In Hollywood
Need a little inspiration to go for it in life? You’ll love listening to Tampa author Rick E. Cutts tell his story.
Rick did what a lot of aspiring authors talk about doing or dream about doing. I’ve spoken to a lot of authors about their process. Here’s what Rick did that I found to be so unique. These two lessons can be applied in any walks of life. This isn’t just applicable to authors.
First, Rick harnessed the power of his creativity. He didn’t let it go to waste. The idea for his story, Strat.A.Gem, struck him during the night after he woke up from a dream. He immediately got to it. He worked tirelessly pouring the idea out of his creative brain and onto the page. In a very short amount of time, he had a final product. In other words, it’s a reminder that creative ideas have a life cycle. You have to strike while ideas are ripe in your mind. And for Rick, his hard work paid off. He watched his book rise to number one on an Amazon top seller list.
But it was the second thing that he did that I find to be truly remarkable. He took a big, calculated risk, which it seems we need to more of in this world. Right? He wanted to meet with a producer in Hollywood who he’d met online. Rather than send an email and hope for the best, he sent a video message. THEN he flew to L.A. in hopes of meeting the producer but the producer hadn’t confirmed he had any time or inclination of meeting him. He sat in busy LAX and waited for the call…I recently chatted with Rick. And you can listen to our interview to find out what happened.
