The Most Popular Halloween Candy In Florida
If you plan on opening your doors on Halloween to the neighborhood ghouls, ghosts, and goblins, there’s one treat in particular you may want to stock up on. It’s the most popular Halloween candy in Florida.
According to CandyStore.com, we buy more of it than any other state in the country; purchasing an unbelievable 668,000 pounds so far this year.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are also the most popular candy in Iowa, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Wyoming, and Florida this Halloween season.
CandyStore.com, an online candy shop that keeps all sorts of cool statistics, reports that M&Ms and Hot Tamales come in second and third respectively. The website says, “M&Ms are giving Reese’s Cups a run for their money”, and could actually overtake the iconic peanut butter and chocolate treat in the future. But for now, Reese’s is still at the top of the heap, having been the most popular Halloween candy nationwide for 15 years, according to sales data.
What’s your favorite Halloween candy?
Anything but candy corn is fine by us! Those waxy sugar bombs are disgusting. Sorry. Candy corn is basically just sugar, corn syrup, confectioner’s glaze, salt, gelatin, honey, and dyes. It instantly makes you think your teeth are about to fall out.
By the way, spending on Halloween is set to exceed pre-pandemic levels and set records this year, according to the National Retail Federation. The organization is expecting spending to top $12 billion, up from last year’s record-breaking $10.6 billion.
It’s not just candy. In fact, at an estimated $3.6 billion up from $3.1 billion last year, candy isn’t even the majority of the massive Halloween spending totals. Costumes and decorations now make up the bulk of it. These days, nearly as many homes decorate for Halloween as they do for Christmas.

What age do you think is appropriate for kids to trick-or-treat without adults? At the end of the day, it’s not a one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on a lot of factors like how many friends they have with them, the location of trick-or-treating, and whether the child has a phone for emergencies.
