Blindfolded Dining In Tampa This Spring
Dining in the Dark will take place at the Centre Club
What can we expect from this new experience involving blindfolded dining in Tampa? It will be taking place at the Centre Club off of Westshore on select weekend nights beginning April 26 and running through early June.
So what can you expect if you purchase tickets to the dining experience? Dining in the Dark events have taken place in other big cities around the country, but this is a first for Tampa. I was imagining that you go and actually sit in the dark somewhere. But this is how it actually works: you are blindfolded once you get there. That is how you are prevented from seeing your food and able to really focus on your sense of taste.
Reviewing Blindfolded Dining In Tampa
I’ve been scouring the internet in search of reviews. Some online reviews claim the food isn’t exceptional, but the experience of blindfolded dining is unique. One diner explained that you do have a strange feeling come over you when you realized you can’t see where your food is and can potentially make a mess.
Another diner explained they were very pleased with the way you’re able to give your food preferences to your server once you are there. A microphone announced when various dishes were arriving at the table. This same user complained about the temperature of the food in certain dishes. There will always be complainers, some with legitimate reasons and some who are just extraordinarily picky. But overall, from my online research I’ve found that those who’ve experienced blindfolded dining are happy that they tried it one time but might not go back for seconds.
I’ll be trying blindfolded dining in Tampa for myself this spring. And I’ll be sure to give you my honest reviews. Check back for it sometime in May. I’m really excited about it. I hope it lives up to my expectations.

We went to Yelp to help build our list, but it wasn’t very helpful. One honorary mention we do want to include from Yelp is the Cruisin’ Tikis Tampa. The idea of floating through Downtown Tampa on a tiki bar with 5 of your closest friends sounds so fun! We’re only leaving them off this list because it’s bring your own food/drinks. The pickup/drop off location is right by Armature Works, so this also means you can grab food to-go from your favorite spot and take it on the water with you. They’ll provide the captain, coolers with ice, and Bluetooth radio for you to play your favorite tunes.
