Farewell, Meteorologist Leigh Spann. We will miss you! Leigh Spann is leaving the Tampa Bay area, and we are bummed about it. She is a Tampa Bay treasure as one of our area’s meteorologists. Leigh talked with MJ, Roxanne and Fester on the MJ boarding show about her plans. Let’s go back a step to a year or so ago when MJ and Froggy surprised Roxanne by bringing Leigh on the show. Roxanne has what MJ describes as a girl crush on Leigh. Roxanne explains it that Leigh has just always been one of those personalities she’s listened to and watched from afar and thought, “Wow. I’d really like to be friends with her.” That became a reality once Leigh and Roxanne met for a drink.

All girl crushes and jokes aside, Leigh will be dearly missed. We’ve loved her news coverage, her warm, personality, and her passion for running. She detailed her running schedule, and it is intense, along with her intense work schedule. She gets up at 1 o’clock in the morning. Leigh will be moving to Ohio to be with her husband. They have been dealing with the challenging task of having a long-distance relationship for 8 1/2 years. Leigh’s husband is also in the business. He is the general manager at a station in the Midwest and Leigh would like to join her husband. We are excited for her and happy for her. She will be with her hubby on a regular basis. We will continue to follow Leigh and stay in touch. MJ wondered what she is going to do with all those “news clothes” that she has. And Roxanne is wondering who is going to pick the color themes that everyone will wear at the news desk. That had previously been Leigh’s role.
