5 Super Cheap Flight Deals from Tampa
This is that time of year when most are too busy with work and school to get away. So this is when you can get some really great deals on travel out of Tampa International Airport. The big drawback to most of these deals is they are on the discount airlines that tend to nickel and dime you on everything from food to carry on luggage. But if you’re willing to pack lightly and bring your own snacks, these are some big savings.
Let’s take a look at some really good deals on roundtrip flights out of TPA that I found this morning (February 26, 2025). Keep in mind airfares fluctuate from day to day so by the time you click to purchase, the prices could go up or down.
Las Vegas for $122
Up for some big time all-you-can-eat buffet action or maybe you haven’t seen The Sphere in person yet? Las Vegas is calling. Even if you lose a few bucks, for an airfare of $122 roundtrip, you can’t go wrong. This deal is from Breeze Airways leaving Saturday, March 29 at 8AM. You’ll land in Vegas just before noon after a quick stop in Huntsville, Alabama. Your flight back to TPA leaves Friday at 12:19pm, getting you back to Tampa late because of the time change at 9pm.
Boston for $59
I’ve never seen a roundtrip flight to Boston this cheap. I fly up to New England often to see family and you’re super lucky to find an airfare in the $100s. But $59 is crazy cheap. For those who aren’t fans of Spirit Airlines, sorry, you’re gonna have to suffer a little. Sure the flights are no frills and they charge for every little thing like most discount airlines these days. But the best part of this deal is that the flight is nonstop. So for 3 hours, you can rough it. You’ll leave Thursday night March 20 at 7:20PM and land in Boston at 10:30pm. The good thing about flying in to Boston is you can jump on public transportation (it’s good) and get pretty much anywhere in the city via “The T” (the subway system) for free. No cab or Uber fees necessary.
Have a lobster roll, do a Red Sox game at Fenway Park or ascend to the top of the Prudential Center for a 360 degree view of the entire city. Hotels are super pricy in Boston, but hey you’re only paying $59 for your airfare. The flight back to Tampa leaves Boston at 9AM March 26 and gets you back to TPA just in time for lunch at 12:27pm. By the way, plan to spend a day or two in my hometown of Portland, Maine. It’s an easy and quick 2 hour bus or train ride away.
Los Angeles for $178
If you’ve never snapped a selfie with the Hollywood sign or with your favorite celebrity’s star on the Walk of Fame, here’s your chance. Maybe go to a taping of The Price Is Right. That’s what I always did when I lived in Cali and did the LA road trip. This is another Spirit flight so you’ll pay for the extras. Plus you’ve got to do connections both ways, including a long annoying layover on the flight back where you’ll spend 6 hours in Houston. But a cross country flight for under $200 is pretty rare. You leave Tampa on May 1 at 4:12pm and return on May 7 at 8:20am.
Montreal for $191
This is another airfare I’ve never seen so low. Tampa to Montreal flights usually run in the $400 range. WestJet is doing this deal. The best part about this one is you get to fly in June when the weather is ridiculously hot in Tampa. Escape to the cool air in Canada where you can dine on my two favorite junk food snacks…. ketchup chips and squeaky cheese. I don’t know why ketchup potato chips aren’t a thing in the U.S. but they should be. Look for the Old Dutch brand specifically. As for the cheese, it’s called squeaky cheese because that’s exactly what it does when you bite into it. It’s so fresh it’s unrefrigerated at grocery stores. Room temperature cheese weirded me out until I took that first bite. You’ll be hooked too. To get that $191 deal, book the 6:25pm flight on June 13 to YUL and fly back to Tampa on June 20 at 6:45AM. Yeah I know those flight times are inconvenient, but you’re getting this airfare for about half price. You’ll have a stop over in Toronto for an hour or two on both flights.
New York for $106
Because NYC has so many airports you can fly in and out of, deals to the Big Apple aren’t all that rare. But $106 is particularly low. Visit the Statue of Liberty or go see if that pizza Florida transplants rave about is really that good. Spoiler… it is. This deal I found is on American Airlines leaving Tampa March 20 at 7:49AM, getting you into LaGuardia at 10:30AM. You come back on March 26 at 6:30PM. Two great things about this deal… both are nonstop flights. Plus you get to bring a carry on bag, which for flights this cheap is very rare.
