Latest Eta Update Looks Good For Tampa Bay
We’ve been really lucky this hurricane season. We’ve definitely dodged a lot of bullets. And it looks like the Tampa area will be spared the worst of Tropical Storm Eta. You probably saw the damage it caused in Central America before arriving in Florida yesterday. But the forecast models over the past 24 hours have pushed the storm west so hopefully we will see less impact here in our area.
Paul from Fox 13 says it’s still too soon though to write off Eta altogether. In a tweet, Paul said this is a “classic case of we can’t pay attention to track line.” He says it’s still possible that Eta could do some damage along the coast, especially Wednesday night into Thursday. He expects the winds to pick up quite a bit too. He says it’s going to be a close call.
Classic case of we can't pay attention to track line. #Eta is not a point on a map. Some reliable models bring #Eta's impacts to our immediate coast Wednesday night/Thursday with gusty winds and squalls. Going to be a close call. Next #NHC update at 4 pm. pic.twitter.com/N1HLvFmQwl
