Knight/BeasleyThe Cross Bay Ferry has been up and running from Tampa to St. Pete for a while now. What's next? It might be a stop in Gibsonton. The idea, according to the Tampa Bay Times, is to have a four boats operating year-round.
Those against the idea think the price tag would be too high... they think it'd be around $100 million over 20 years. Docks and boats would add about $36 million. Those who love it think it could cut down on traffic congestion and they say it's cheaper than building more roads.
As you can see, the idea is not a new one. This piece from ABC Action News is from almost a decade ago.
