New Scooter Parking Rules in Tampa
The days of just leaving one of those e-scooters anywhere you want are over. Riders will now be fined if they don’t follow some new parking rules announced by the City of Tampa.
Fox 13 reports that their mobile app will let users know if the spot they picked to leave their scooter isn’t ok. There are designated drop off corrals and other approved locations where riders can park. If they don’t use one of those, they can expect a fine. No word yet on how much those fines will be though yet. They’re going to discuss that next week.
One big problem has been people leaving the scooters too close to the water. You know what happens next. Someone tosses it in. And they don’t swim well. Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful has been tasked to get them out of the Hillsborough River.
