2024 Concert Lineup at The Sound in Clearwater
The renovation of Coachman Park in Clearwater is done and the park’s new concert venue The Sound has already hosted several big name acts like the Goo Goo Dolls, Cheap Trick, Gavin DeGraw, Ringo Starr, the Steve Miller Band, Sammy Hagar, Peter Frampton, Kenny Loggins and John Fogerty. The 2024 concert lineup is out and there’s a bit of something for everyone.
The cool thing about The Sound is that view of the water. It’s a great backdrop and the design of the stage allows for the performers to open part of the backdrop up so you can see the Clearwater skyline. Another neat part is that if you don’t have a ticket, you can still sit on the lawn next to the venue and hear the music fine… for free.
Spring 2024
Up next at The Sound on March 16 is blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa. A week later, 70s soft rock icons Air Supply (“All Out Of Love” and “Here I Am”) will play The Sound. Opening for Air Supply will be Little River Band (“Reminiscing” and “Cool Change”). Tickets remain for both shows.
Country music legends Alabama play The Sound on April 5. Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry are the two remaining members of the original group. Founding member Jeff Cook died in 2022. Diamond Rio will open the show. Punk rockers Bad Religion and Social Distortion play The Sound April 28.
Summer 2024
Unlike the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre, The Sound doesn’t need to get all their shows in during the summer months so the summer concert season is fairly quiet. A Beatles Tribute will be featured May 4. After that the venue will be quiet for a few months.
Two shows are scheduled for August at The Sound. Vocal group Straight No Chaser headlines a show August 4. Q105 80s favorite UB40 (“Red Red Wine” and “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”) plays a show with The English Beat and Maxi Priest August 8.
Fall 2024
Two 90s favorites share the stage at The Sound September 26. Melissa Etheridge (“Come To My Window” and “The Only One”) will co-headline a show with Jewel (“You Belong To Me” and “Foolish Games”). On November 15, O.A.R. returns to The Sound. They opened for the Goo Doo Dolls show at The Sound last year. Bret Michaels from Poison will play his first concert at The Sound December 14 with Dee Snider from Twisted Sister and Night Ranger.
