Concert Ticket Presale: 3 Tips To Get Great Seats
Often the day before tickets for a concert go on sale to the general public, there’s a chance to snag the best seats in a presale. Presales are often open to fan club members, frequent concert goers, and social media followers. Concert ticket presales used to be more exclusive but now they’ve almost become the new general on sale. So these 3 tips I’m about to give you really can give you the edge to get the best seats before they disappear on Ticketmaster.
#1: Something to do now before the presale…
Sign in NOW to your Ticketmaster account. Make sure you have a valid credit card stored. You might have a new card number since the last time you bought concert tickets. Sometimes the system gets wonky during an on sale (ask Taylor Swift fan parents). If your order process gets disrupted, you might have to input your credit card info all over again. You’ll lose time… and the best seats.
Make sure all your profile stuff is up to date… your phone number, address, etc. That way if something goes wrong during the order, you won’t have to start all over again inputting all of your information Ticketmaster will require to complete the purchase.
#2: The day before the presale…
Download the arena seating chart and try to decide which section you want to buy seats in now. While some tours have unique seating layouts, most concert tours have a similar floor plan. If the arena you’re buying tickets for doesn’t show a seating chart, look at other venues that the tour you’re buying tickets for is playing. Have a backup choice too. When the presale begins, seats go fast. Front row and center is pretty awesome, but seats in front of the mixing board are great too.
#3: The day of the concert ticket presale…
On presale day, don’t wait until a few minutes before go time to get started. The system will be slowed down. At least one hour before, log in to your account. The worst thing is when you’ve got the perfect seats and the internet goes out. Or what if Ticketmaster or your screen freezes up? On the day of a concert ticket presale, plan for this. The less you have to do when the presale begins, the better. If you log in early, all you’ll need to do is pick your seats, click on the credit card you already entered and tap check out. Enjoy the concert!
