New Area Code For Tampa Area Cell Phone Users In 2022

813 and 727 numbers are getting getting harder to come by. So a new area code is coming. Channel 8 says that T-Mobile has now confirmed that their new users will have a 656 phone number beginning on February 22, 2022. This will apply to everyone in Hillsborough County. Plus it’ll also impact those in Oldsmar and a few parts of Pasco County. Basically if you live where 813 is the prevailing area code, this 656 number will be what they give you.

It’ll also mean how you dial a phone number will change. Because of these changes, seven digits won’t do the trick. That change will start January 22, 2022. [Source: Channel 8]
