So far, it’s been a quiet hurricane season for Florida. That could change as Tropical Storm Elsa is fueling up over the Atlantic. Its track is uncertain but Florida could definitely see some effects from it by looking at the projected paths from the various models.

The storm is already making headlines. The Tampa Bay Times says this is the earliest we’ve ever seen a fifth named storm. As of Thursday morning’s forecast, the cone shows that all of southern Florida could get a visit from Elsa. The current cone maps indicate we could see some wild weather late Monday into early Tuesday morning. The good news is by the time it would get to us, it looks like the storm could lose its punch. But it’s worth keeping an eye on this weekend. [Source: Tampa Bay Times]
