Wrong Way Driver On The Howard Frankland Bridge Arrested
It happened again. There was another wrong way driver on the Howard Frankland Bridge early Sunday morning. Channel 8 reports 22 year old Jason Arellano Martinez from Sarasota was going the wrong way at about 1:30AM. They say he got onto I-275 at 22nd Avenue North in St. Petersburg. Florida Highway Patrol says he hit 4 cars.
The Florida Highway Patrol report says during that 13 mile ride, Martinez didn’t even realize he was going the wrong way. Officers say he had watery eyes and his speech was slurred. A strong odor of alcohol was on his breath as well, according to the report. Martinez admitted he had been drinking margaritas at his hotel and at a downtown St. Pete bar.
