I know it sounds crazy but seriously this Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich they served at Rays game could be the answer to the attendance problem.

Want something WAY better than peanuts and Cracker Jacks? Maybe it never disappeared and they just hid it in a spot I couldn’t find at Tropicana Field. But JUST as I was about to leave The Trop Monday night, I walked by and saw the sandwich I’ve missed like CRAZY the past couple years: The Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich. You’ll find it near those auto beverage dispensers out behind center field.

I don’t know if’s a local food truck’s creation or if the Trop dreamt it up. But it is just as good as it looks. I only tried it back in 2019 because the line was the shortest that particular night. It was fate I tell you. Fate. Stadium and arena foods are always overpriced. Burgers, hot dogs, popcorn… $5 for a bottle of soda. You know when you eat at a concert or sporting event, you’re not going to find a bargain. But this was pretty close. For about the same price as all the usual stadium staples, you can have something special.

This was special. I mean just look at the description: beer braised short rib, caramelized onion, horseradish cream with melted cheddar, Swiss and Havarti cheese. They don’t even mention how it’s served on hot buttered Texas Toast.
