American Airlines Gives Too Many Pilots Christmas Off

If you’re planning on flying on Christmas, you’d better check ahead and make sure your flight is still going as scheduled. American Airlines has encountered a scheduling “glitch” with their pilots. Here’s what’s happened.
There is a system by which American Airlines pilots may request days off, and anyone who asked for Christmas off was granted their day off.
This has caused as many as 15,000 flights to be scheduled without a flight staff.
