May Concert Preview: The Lineup
First legendary 80s rockers 38 Special will play a free show at Busch Gardens May 5. Best known for their 80s Q105 hits “Hold On Loosely” and “Caught Up In You,” 38 Special returns to the Busch Gardens Food & Wine Festival in Tampa. Admission to the concert is free with your park ticket.
Next we head to Clearwater for an outdoor performance by the legendary Diana Ross. She'll play The Sound at Coachman Park, now known as The BayCare Sound I believe. (Already a name change!?) I finally dropped by the park for a concert this past Sunday night and can say it's true... you CAN enjoy concerts at The Sound without a ticket. Here's more on that.
Sting Returns
If you missed his performance at Raymond James Stadium with Billy Joel, here's another chance to see the former front man for The Police. Sting performs with The Florida Orchestra at The Mahaffey Theater. This one's a pricy one. Tickets range from $100-$750.
This next one I'm pumped for. I've never had a chance to catch En Vogue in concert. Their voices still sound incredible. See them at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.
On May 22, the Dave Matthews Band returns to Tampa. A Wednesday night performance the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa. Best known for their 90s hits "Crash Into Me," "Ants Marching" and "What Would You Say."
We wrap up the month of May with a legend. It'll be a fun night of Q105 Saturday Night Dance Party favorites with both Lionel and Earth, Wind & Fire at the Kia Center in Orlando. This show played to a packed house at Amalie Arena in 2023. It's not in Tampa, but this one's worth the road trip.
