Dick’s Sporting Goods Stops Sales Of Certain Rifles And No Sales To Anyone Under 21
Dick’s Sporting Goods announced that they will no longer sell AR-15s and other semiautomatic rifles, nor will they sell “high capacity magazines” for these firearms.
Dick’s Sporting Goods is among the nation’s largest sporting goods retailer stores, and they are making changes they are calling permanent. After the shootings at Sandy Hook in 2012, assault-style rifles were removed from their stores, but they returned months later to Field & Stream, it’s outdoor and hunting store.
Edward Stack, Dick’s Sporting Goods’ CEO, and son of the store’s founder, also announced the chain will not sell any firearms to anyone under 21.
Sales records showed that Dick’s had in fact sold a firearm to mass shooter Nikolas Cruz, though that gun had not been involved with the school shooting in Parkland.
