FBI Says Reboot Your Wireless Router: Malware Is Out There
In a public service announcement released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, it is recommended that small office and home office routers get rebooted because of malware that has been released worldwide.
VPNFilter malware is affecting routers by blocking traffic and even collection information.
Rebooting is easily done by unplugging and plugging in the power supply, otherwise known as power cycling. Some are even suggesting to power cycle wireless hotspots as well. It doesn’t hurt and will only take you offline for a few minutes as it reboots.
