It’s great to be an involved parent by making sure you’re engaging with your child and offering them a variety of experiences, but when is it too much? You’ve heard of the helicopter parent that hovers over the child. Well there’s a new parenting term that’s been coined by a teacher who observes it in her kids’ relationships with their parenets.
Have you heard of a lawnmower parent? They’re willing to mow over any obstacle in Little Suzy’s or Little Johnny’s path so they can have their way and be happy. It’s a great way to raise entitled kids. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing for kids to learn that life isn’t always fair and they won’t always get their way.
