As the Florida Department of Transportation continues the big project 'Gateway Expressway,' there will be another weekend road closure. Here's what you need to know.
All travel lanes, northbound and southbound, from Ulmerton Road to Brian Dairy, will be closed. This will begin Friday, 8/19, at 9 p.m. The plan is to reopenen the lanes on Sunday, 8/21, at 9 p.m. Road crews are performing overhead work.
The recommended detours are:
- For southbound traffic: Turn right (west) onto Ulmerton Road. Turn left (south) onto 66th Street. Turn left (east) onto Bryan Dairy Road and right (south) onto U.S. 19.
- For northbound traffic, turn right (east) onto 118th Avenue. Turn left (north) onto 49th Street. Turn left (west) onto Ulmerton Road, and then right (north) onto U.S. 19.

Tampa Area Represented In Best Florida Beaches By US News Travel
There are so many beaches surrounding the state of Florida. With the number of lists of "best beaches," there will be differences in each.
US News Travel created a list of the top #15 beaches in Florida. Of course, the Tampa Bay area has its share of well-known beaches. In the annual list by the respected Dr. Beach, there were two Florida beaches in his top 10 beaches in the U.S. Those two were St. George Island State Park in the panhandle and Caladesi Island State Park in Dunedin.
As always, these lists are very subjective, so it will be different than other lists. Also, this list focuses only on Florida beaches.
