An I-275 Tampa On-Ramp Closing For 45 Days

If you drive on Tampa roads, you know there’s construction all over. There’s a project taking place on I-275 north of downtown Tampa that has an on-ramp that will close for 45 days.

If you drive on Tampa roads, you know there's construction all over. There's a project taking place on I-275 north of downtown Tampa that has an on-ramp closing for 45 days.

The project, from just north of downtown Tampa to Hillsborough Avenue, will add a lane to each direction of I-275. there have been temporary closures of lanes and ramps. This one will last a bit longer than others have so far. This Tampa on-ramp closing may have an impact on drivers coming out of the downtown area.

Beginning Sunday, September 11 at 11 p.m., the entrance ramp from Floribraska Avenue onto northbound I-275 will close. It will remain closed for 45 days as crews build a new entrance ramp.

There are plenty of detours. Here's a list of them, or you can click here for a map.

For those traveling eastbound on Floribraska Avenue, continue east to Nebraska Avenue. Turn north (left) onto Nebraska, then west (left) onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and take the northbound I-275 ramp.

For westbound drivers, take Floribraska west to Florida Avenue and turn north (right). Take Florida Avenue to Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and turn east (right) to the northbound I-275 entrance ramp.

There will be plenty of warning signs and electronic message boards to help direct you through the area. The project is expected to be completed in early 2026.
