St. Petersburg Hosts Powerboat Race Over Labor Day Weekend
This is the second time St. Petersburg has hosted these powerboat race championships.
Dozens of powerboats and jetskis will race on September 3rd and 4th. It’s the P1 Offshore Powerboat Grand Prix. This race is part of the 2022 APBA Offshore National Championship.
Boats from all over the country will fire up off St. Pete. The public can check out the pits for the race boats in Vinoy Park Friday and Saturday nights. You can watch the powerboat race from near downtown or by the St. Pete Pier.
You can click here for ticket information, schedules and maps of the racecourse.
There will be observers in boats, on land and overhead in a helicopter to keep an eye out for marine animals. Sightings of dolphins, manatees or turtles can result in the observers stopping the race, if necessary.
