St. Pete To Vote On Possible Ban Of Plastic Straws And Styrofoam Cups
Plastic straws and styrofoam cups could become a thing of the past in St. Petersburg.
Thursday afternoon, the St. Pete City Council will take a vote a measure that could ban the use of plastic straws or Styrofoam type cups. The measure would stop business from offering these products, but could still provide them upon request.
Violations would result in written warnings, followed by fines.
The restrictions would begin in 2020.
