The viral children’s song ‘Baby Shark’ has been around for much longer than most people realize, but it’s only been since 2011 that it was recorded and posted on YouTube to become a viral sensation. However, there is more to the story.
The o
rigin of the song ‘Baby Shark’ begins with barely-known origins. There’s no known author of the original lyrics, but it’s believed to have begun as a camp song, easy to remember and chant with large groups.
Although a version was posted in 2011 by Johnny Only, the Pinkfong version in 2016 became the most popular version.
The song may be kid-friendly now, but the original song was a little more disturbing, with people losing limbs and eventually dying.
