Port Richey Mayor Arrested For Shooting At Police Swat Team
A Pasco County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was at a Port Richey home to serve a search warrant when they were fired upon by someone in the home. The person was later identified as Port Richey Mayor Dale Massad.
Last year, Mayor Massad and his girlfriend had been arrested at the house on battery charges. This morning around 4:40 a.m. when the SWAT team arrived, shots were fired by the Mayor, but no shots were returned by the SWAT team.
The Mayor was taken into custody. The warrant was being served by Pasco County deputies and FDLE. An investigation alleged that Mayor Massad had been practicing medicine in his home despite having lost his license in 1992.
