Tampa’s Official Ybor Ghost Tour Ramps Up For Halloween

Halloween decorations are beginning to appear in stores. That means it’s time for ghosts to come out. The Official Ybor Ghost Tour is the way to learn about the ones in some of Tampa‘s historic buildings.

The Official Ybor Ghost Tour runs all year, but this is the time of year when there are more tours scheduled. This year, there will be more options for your ghost-viewing pleasure.

First, there’s the tour of Ybor City. You’ll get to know the haunts familiar to the Ybor’s history. It’s the only tour that has complete access to the Cuban Club, known to be one of the most haunted buildings in the United States, according to the Travel Channel. The Ybor tours begin at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. with a guide who has amazing knowledge of the area.

Second, and new for 2022, there’s a new ghost tour in downtown Tampa. This begins at the Tampa Theatre, also known to be a haunted building. These tours begin at 8 p.m. starting September 7.

  • 5. International Independent Showmen's Museum, Riverview

    Learn the history, and mystery, of the traveling carnival.

  • 6. Church by the Sea (The Chicken Church), Madeira Beach

    Whether the design is intentional or an unfortunate result, the building is certainly memorable.

  • 7. The Sea Hagg, Bradenton

    As their sign reads, “Nauticals, Antiques, Curiosities.” It’s someplace you need to visit to find that special, one-of-a-kind treasure.

  • 8. Ulele Fairyland Figures, Tampa

    Originally on display at Lowry Park, the figures were acquired by Ulele (and Columbia Restaurant owner) Richard Gonzmart, who put them on display at his restaurant on the Hillsborough River.

  • 9. Braden Castle Ruins, Bradenton

    On land acquired by brothers Dr. Joseph Addison Braden and Hector Braden, a two-story manor, nicknamed ‘The Castle’ was built. The property fell to hard times, and much of the remaining structure has been grown over by the natural flora.

  • 10. National Comedy Hall of Fame & Museum, Holiday

    Get some laughs, and learn about some of your favorite comedians. Clearly, noplace screams “National Comedy Hall of Fame & Museum” like the town of Holiday, Florida!
