Park Employee Calms Autistic Boy When Ride Shuts Down
While on line at Universal Islands of Adventure, a park employee stepped in to help calm a child who began to have a fit when the ride broke down.
Nine-year-old Ralph has autism, and he ‘lost it’ when he learned the Amazing Adventures of Spider Man broke down.
Ralph was on the floor, and Jen Whelchel, a park employee, joined him. She stayed with him and helped him through it, letting him cry it out and helped him breath as she kept foot traffic away from him.
She stayed with him until he calmed down.
