Insurance Claim Denied After Clearwater Home Has Alligator Break-In
When an alligator broke into a Clearwater house in May and left thousands of dollars in damage, the homeowner filed an insurance claim. A month later, there’s a response from the insurance company.
No.
The alligator damaged windows, furniture, wine bottles and the walls inside the house.
Now, she’s on the hook for the damage because the insurance company denied her claim.
The owner said she doesn’t have the money to repair the glass window at the front of the hosue and the walls that were damaged. The window is still boarded up.
Why did the claim get denied? Her insurance policy does not cover damage from reptiles (among other animals).
Check your homeowners insurance policy and see if it does. You never know when you may need it.
