Film Commissioner Celebrates Pinellas County Permit Activity
The Visit St. Pete/Clearwater’s Film Commission issued the most permits ever for filming in Pinellas County for 2019.
Over 250 permits were given to film projects of under $2 million. Fifteen were feature films using various Pinellas County sites for filming.
More filming activity means more money being pumped into the county. Local hires, hotel rooms and other expenses that are brought in by film crews are a product of the incentives offered by the county.
Hallmark Channel filmed two movies in 2019 in Pinellas County.
Commercials, reality TV and docudramas are also projects that bring in money for the county’s economy.
