Hudson, Florida Man Cashed Dead Mother’s Social Security Checks
If you’re going to get caught stealing money from Social Security, you’re going to spend some time in jail like this man from Hudson.
Glenn Harrison, from Hudson, Florida, had been collecting his mom’s Social Security… but she had died 23 years earlier. Now 71, Harrison will spend almost the next three and half years in prison after being sentenced in federal court. His sentence also includes repaying the stolen funds.
Court records show Harrison’s mother died in 1994, but her death was never reported to Social Security, so the checks kept arriving, totaling over $360,000 before stopping in 2017.
