Lutz Homeowner And WWE Wrestler Victim Of Attempted Kidnapping
The wrestler was home when the suspect broke into her home to act on his plans.
Plans were made to kidnap and hold hostage the Lutz resident. He planned them over eight months, and Sunday morning, the man parked at Idlewild Baptist Church and walked to his victim’s home in the Promenade at Lake Park. He hid on her screened-in patio and waited until she went to bed in the early morning hours, then entered through a sliding glass door.
The door activated a home alarm which alerted the homeowner who spotted the man. She left the home and called 911. Deputies found the man inside the home and reported he had been carrying a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape and mace. Investigators found the man was from South Carolina, and he had plans to take homeowner, Daria Berenato, hostage. Berenato goes by the name Sonya Deville in the WWE.
The suspect is being charged with: Aggravated Stalking, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Attempted Armed Kidnapping, and Criminal Mischief.
