Land O’Lakes Man Youngest Floridian To Win Powerball, $235 Million
The Powerball drawing from March 27, 2021, was up to over $235 million and it went to one ticket.
Thomas Yi of Land O’ Lakes became the youngest Floridian to claim the jackpot prize at the age of 23. He told the Florida Lottery that he was in disbelief when he checked his ticket. Yi still plans to finish his education in a business or medical field.
Yi purchased the Powerball ticket at the Publix store located at 16560 N. Nebraska Ave. in Lutz. He chose the one-time lump sum payment of $160,038,447.27.
The Florida Lottery announces that Thomas Yi, 23, of Land O’ Lakes, claimed a $235.4 million jackpot prize from the POWERBALL® drawing held on March 27, 2021 at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $160,038,447.27. The store will receive $95,000 for selling the winning Powerball ticket.
