A bear wandering Pinellas County has been spotted on camera and in a park, forcing it to close for the day.
Early Saturday, it was caught on video in northern Pinellas County near Curlew and Countryside, according to Clearwater Police. It was also spotted in Philippe Park in Safety Harbor. Clearwater Police shared a Twitter video from a Ring camera.
This bear was captured on home video near Curlew and Countryside early Saturday, then made its way south to near the Countryside Recreation Center and Misty Springs condos. It was gone, or hiding, when our officers arrived. This morning, the bear was spotted in Philippe Park. pic.twitter.com/Wn2kjqjxTq

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has made some statements about the bear. They are keeping an eye on the movement on the bear and allowing it to move out on its own. They recommend leaving the bear alone and giving it the space to move through. Also, never leave food out, because anything that attracts other animals (cats, dogs, raccoons) will also attract bears.
