American Airlines Announces 3 New Direct Flights From Tampa
Tampa International Airport is still growing, and they’ve added three new big direct routes.
American Airlines has added direct flights to:
- Los Angeles (LAX) beginning October 7
- Nashville (BNA) twice daily beginning November 2
- Raleigh-Durham (RDU) twice-daily beginning November 2
In a press release, Tampa Airport CEO Joe Lopano said
“We are thrilled that American Airlines sees the same opportunity in Tampa Bay that we see. Any time an airline adds more service at TPA it’s a win for our region, but American’s addition of five new daily point-to-point flights – including a transcontinental nonstop to LAX – is a terrific demonstration of its confidence in our vibrant market. We’re very appreciative to the entire American team and look forward to helping make these new flights a hit.”
This announcement comes as many airlines are looking to take advantage of new opportunities brought on by the pandemic. Two years ago, American Airlines began changing from a traditional ‘hub-and-spoke’ model to more point-to-point service.
Bookings will begin next week through American Airlines.
