Alert: Tampa International Airport Fire Drills This Week
You might be driving by Tampa International Airport, or perhaps flying in or out. You could see some unusual activity. Don’t be alarmed. Here’s what’s happening.
This is a test… according to a tweet from Tampa International Airport, it’s a fire drill. Fire crews will be conducting exercises for the next three nights.
Live burn exercises will likely be visible. Flames and smoke will be seen on the airport property from the airfield. This won’t affect airport operations.
JUST A DRILL: Local fire crews will conduct live burn exercises on TPA property tonight, tomorrow night and Thursday night, Jan. 4-6. Smoke and flames may be visible from the airfield but airport operations will not be impacted.

The tests will run tonight (Tuesday, 1/4/22), tomorrow (1/5/22) and Thursday (1/6/22).
This is an example of a drill at Tampa International Airport.
