As we’ve posted previously, there’s a plan moving forward to connect Tampa to Orlando with high-speed rail, including a stop at Disney. Now, things are changing.
Studies and plans have been ongoing for the route from Tampa to a station at Orlando International Airport. Now, the latest plan is to have the train stop at International Drive and continue on to Tampa.
The latest route, according to Disney, doesn’t work with a stop close to Disney property. There had been a plan to put a stop near Disney Springs, Walt Disney World’s shopping and entertainment area. At this point, that plan is cancelled.
