Florida Ranked One Of Least Patriotic States

Okay, there’s a survey taken for seemingly every possible subject. This one ranked the U.S. states by how patriotic each is. How did each state do?

The rankings of which states have the most (or least) patriotism are based on Wallethub.com‘s data. They broke down the numbers between ‘military engagement’ and ‘civil engagement’.

‘Military engagement’ refers to the average number of enlistees per 1,000 adults from 2013-2018. Also, the number of veterans per 1,000 adults, active-duty personnel per 100,000 adults and the number of adults in the reserves.

‘Civil engagement’ includes the number of adults who voted in the 2020 presidential election, and primary elections. Also, volunteer rates and hours, AmeriCorps and Peace Corps volunteers, jury participation and civics education requirements.

Based on all this data, Wallethub.com ranked each state’s patriotism. Would you be surprised to find out that the least patriotic state is New York? The second least patriotic state: Florida. As Floridians, I think many would be surprised by the result.

5. New Hampshire
4. Vermont
3. Maryland
2. Alaska
