Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receiver To Miss Remainder Of Season
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers not only lost a game Sunday night, but they lost one of their key players to an injury.
Chris Godwin caught a pass over the middle of the field Sunday night and was hit hard. The hit was low, and though he walked off the field, he was checked out and the news was not good. Chris is one of the most important targets for quarterback Tom Brady.
Godwin suffered a torn ACL. That brought his season to an abrupt halt. He took a hit low to his body and was flipped over before a hard landing on the turf. Trainers needed to see him, and he tried to work it out on the sideline. The team finally ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

During the telecast of the game, announcer Chris Collinsworth said that players would rather get hit up high than down low. This was the perfect example of what can happen when this sort of hit occurs.
Sadly, Godwin wasn’t the only injury the Buccaneers suffered in the loss to the New Orleans Saints. Wide receiver Mike Evans and running back Leonard Fournette each left the game early with hamstring injuries. We haven’t yet heard about the severity of those injuries. The Buccaneers are also expected to get wide receiver Antonio Brown back for next week’s game from his suspension.
