Polk County Man Wins $1 Million From Florida Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket
We love knowing residents of the area are lucky enough to find these big winners. A Lake Alfred resident is the latest to win $1 million.
43-year-old Jose Vences Maldonado found his lucky ticket in the 500X The Cash scratch-off game. The $50 game turned into a $1 million win.
The Lake Alfred resident purchased the ticket at the Wawa located at 334 Havendale Blvd. in Auburndale. He claimed his winnings at the Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. Maldonado chose to receive the prize as a lump-sum of $820,000. The store will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The 500X The Cash scratch-off game offered 160 $1 million prizes, of which 133 remain. There are also the two top prizes of $25 million, each of which still remain. The game features prizes ranging from $100 to $25 million.
$25 million is the largest prize ever offered for a Florida Lottery scratch-off game. Its $50 price tag also marks the highest price the Florida Lottery has put on a scratch-off ticket. The game launched February 28, 2022.
