ZooTampa Welcomes Baby Rhino
What’s cuter than a rhinoceros? A baby rhinoceros! And, of course, we hear there was a bouncing baby rhino born at ZooTampa.
The new addition is a greater one-horned rhino, otherwise known as an Indian rhinoceros. There is only an estimated 3,700 in the wild. He joins the zoo’s ‘crash’, the term used for a group of rhinos. Parents Jamie and Johnny welcomed the baby this past weekend, the couple’s fourth. We’ll soon learn what name he is given at the zoo.
Jamie and Johnny have had their new calf born on Saturday night and is a cute as can be! This will be Jamie's fourth calf and Johnny's first making this newborn incredibly important to the Species Survival Plan and future conservation to this vulnerable species. #zootampa #tampa pic.twitter.com/t2YfXw1951
